Christmas Decorations

I did say this blog would have some decorating as well as fashion. Here are a few pics of my tree and some of the decorating I did. Although I had a different vision for my tree this year, I ended up doing some of the natural colors from last year. This year I wanted to do black, white, and silver but time got away from me and I didn't have a chance to look for those colors. Nevertheless, I think it turned out nice.

I tried to do a Winter Wonderland type theme here 😊. I bought the fake snow and the pillow says I'm Dreaming of a White Christmas. I also bought the branches and just put lights around it.
Looks a lot better with the lights on. Scooby makes his debut, and he looks like he was placed to sit right there, but he wasn't lol!

The lettering Faith, Believe, and Love were a DIY project. They were wood and I purchased from Michaels. I had my daughter spray paint them and just hung them on the tree. The JOY was purchased at the Dollar store. They have great inexpensive "expensive" looking ornaments.

Deer head was found at HomeGoods.

The owl was a gift from my aunt last year. I guess I have a Woodland Friends theme going on too!
Another DIY project. I simply bought $1 store ornaments and strung them together and tied around the garland. The pics were taken with my IPad so they're not the best quality but all in all I think I did okay and I kept it pretty minimal this year.

Weekend Happenings In NYC

I went to New York this weekend to see Cinderella. The show was fantastic! That was my first Broadway play and it did not disappoint. NeNe did an excellent job as Madame and KeKe Palmer held it down in the lead role. The weather was cold but not as cold as I expected. While there the Justice for All Millions March was taking place it was amazing to see so many people of all ethnic backgrounds come together for such a serious cause.

Also yesterday marked a historic sequential date of 12/13/14. How cool is that?!
In keeping with the ending to this post here is what I wore. After deciding that the cold weather didn't matter to me, I
chose to wear a skirt and I'm glad I did!

The skirt and crop are both from F21. Booties are from Charlotte Russe(old) and coat is from Sheinside. Clutch is from Marshall's. Lip color is MAC Diva.

Casual Stylings

In my office, we have a relaxed dress code. Although I mainly dress up during the week, I tend to go more casual on Fridays. With the season change, it makes me eager to dress up less and go for more casual looks so I like to wear my cozy sweaters and boots in most times. This look here can go either way. Cant forget my Starbucks! Hope you're having a great week. Cheers to the weekend! It's on it's way! :-)

What to Wear to a Broadway Show

I'm off to see Cinderella on Broadway next month with my girlfriends and being as though this would be my first Broadway play, I have no clue what to wear. Never fear, Polyvore is here! Love the way you can play around with outfits.Staying true to my style is key first and foremost and  I can almost guarantee that it will be freezing so I'm really trying to stay away from dresses, but I will rock a nice midi skirt! These are my top choices. Which would you select?

Transition into Fall

One thing I love about maxi dresses is that they're a transitional piece. They can be worn in any season if you pair it with the right pieces. I chose to wear this maxi dress with my jean shirt. Even though we're nearing the end of October, we've still had some warm days. I'm loving the transition weather though! :-) Also, I wanted to take a minute to say I'm also loving this new foundation I picked up by Shea Moisture from Target. They're known for their awesome natural hair products that are always a staple for me and they've now moved into makeup. I havent tried any of other products but I plan to now that this foundation has me over the moon and for $10 you cant beat that! It goes on smooth and creamy and matches my complexion perfectly.

Mon Petit Cheri

Mon Petit Cheri in French means "my little darling". Following in line with my love for Paris, this shirt was right up my alley. I have to say the weather was the epitome of a perfect fall day. Hope you're having a great weekend!

Lost Files

So, this post is actually a week old. I aimlessly let hubs take these pics instead of my daughter because I was rushing thinking it was gonna rain. I'll give him an A for effort because he really thought he was doing a great job. He "posed" me and although he was too far away, these were the best shots I could pick from the 24 he took. (Disregard he cut off my shoes in the second pic) Needless to say, Thank you Babe!!

Keep Moving

There are times when we second guess or doubt ourselves. Are we making the best decision for a particular situation? Is this the best timing for this to happen? When I feel indecisive about something I'm attempting to do that is going to take me to another level, I tend to think about the negatives more than the positive outcomes. I'm learning first and foremost that I need to trust in God with anything I want. I know that in order to move to the next level, there will always be a some type of discomfort and that's usually indication you're on the right track. My advice is to keep moving and know that what is for you is for you. Nobody can take that away from you!
