Getting Organized and Mother's Day Gifts

Happy Tuesday and Happy Belated Mother's Day to all your hardworking Mommas out there! Mother's Day was pretty low key for me. My loving Mommy came over and spent the weekend with me and the grands. The weather was gorgeous so after my little one's swim class on Saturday, hubby put some food on the grill and we just hung out basically. My bestie and her daughter came over and spent the entire day with us too. We went out the mall and I got my mother's gift. She never needs or wants anything, so I literally have to force her to let me get her something. My girls were so sweet and used my best friend to help them pick out something for me. It was so cute how they tried to "hide" it from me, but all in all they did a good job with everything. I got some new MAC and a workout outfit from Pink. I told my daughter that was great motivation LOL! I loved it.

The colors in order are: Happy-Go-Lucky, Viva Glam Rihanna, and the gloss is Live It Up.

So, in the same timing as getting organized with my spring/summer wardrobe, I've started to attempt getting more organized with this blogging. I am normally a person who writes notes and lists and I usually use my Notes app on my Iphone or my Ipad. I've always been a sucker for pretty notebooks, pens, anything stationary wise, etc. I had this notebook for awhile and I use it for random things I jot down. Now I will try to start planning out my blog posts and ideas. You can find pretty notebooks anywhere these days, but HomeGoods and TjMaxx have been the go to lately. I have these two gold ones in my possession now
and have been using them quite a bit lately. The plain gold one has a crock print and was found at Target in the clearance aisle for about $3. Cant beat that. So i'll be collecting alot of these along with my pretty pens so that when I really begin to get my desk area in my room together I can stack these as I want. Enjoy your week!!!

Something New

Months have passed and I have been going back and forth saying Im gonna post on my blog, Im gonna post on my blog. And it didnt happen. So now that I've finally decided what direction I want this to go in, I think Im ready. As I may have said before, or I think I did, this was started as a creative outlet for me. Whether it be my passion for baking, fashion, make up etc. It's all about my PASSIONS! If there's one place I can let me creative juices flow it will be here. SO,, without further ado, I am taking this blog in a new direction. Not to say I wont still be doing any of my home decor/diy stuff anymore. I'll be attempting to post OOTD (outfit of the day ) pics, make up looks, anything Im currently crushing on, etc!! As I've been strolling through the blogosphere I have been reading several postings of some very talented ladies. Almost all of them said that same thing that I've said, the blog was something that began as a creative outlet. Im not sure where this may lead to or rather it doenst matter, Im hoping to inspire others with my journey, etc as some of the ladies that I view do. If anything I take away from this, it will be that I have something to look back on and say, hey, I dedicated my time to this and I took it as far as it could go! Enjoy!!

Here are three pairs of shoes Im currently obessing over!! Actually salivating over....

Okay, so this goes without further introduction. I am REALLY REALLY obsessed with this shoe. Now, it currently retails for $875. OUCH! Ignore the price on the image that  says $760; this was found on google. You can go on Neiman or Saks' website to view as well.  Let me just say, I am a BAG girl, always have been. That is where I normally splurge. I love mixing hi lo fashion. I have just begun to begin looking at the higher end shoes. When everyone was harping on the Christian Louboutin rage, I didnt understand it. Really couldnt forsee spending over $500 and up on a pair of shoes that would kill my feet. Eh?.. whoever has done it, not criticizing; just saying it wasnt MY cup of tea or coffee rather, that is until I finally saw a shoe that I truly could imagine dropping dollas on. Not only do these shoes scream sexy, but gasp! They're comfortable. The platform of course has alot to do with this Im sure. I've read constant reviews (as I always do when Im researching something pricey as this) and I was equally pleased to hear its a shoe you can walk in all day long. Needless to say, the shoe is on backorder ,which gives me time to save my cash (HA HA) I probably wont have saved enough for the shoe to be able to wear it this year, lol, but by next spring/summer yes I will have it!!! So out of all the colors I love the brown the most. There's also a yummy patent leather shoe as well.

This is the Gucci Ursula sandal. Another yet comfy shoe that I can see me buying.  Wanna know why?.. the heel is 3 1/2 inches!!!! It retails for $660. Yeah, this might be the first one I get.. hopefully before summer ends if I do right with my money LOL! These babies have been seen all over as well. The Valentino Rockstud heel. LOVE LOVE LOVE! Sadly, yes sadly, these retail even more than my beloved YSLs. They're going for $945. So, yep; as you can see.. i've got my work cut out for me. But you know what?.. It'll be fun getting there!! I love the fact that this one is probably more of an all year round shoe as opposed to the other two. I can rock this in spring/summer, and fall. I can see me now with a pair of skinny jeans, blazer, ect.. yep I've already let my mind go!

What shoes have you been crushing on?

Not Too Late

Hello Everyone! It's been at least 3 months since I've posted and as I've stated before, I will try to post more often as time permits. After the holidays have gone and the new year has begun to settle in, there are many things that I had to analyze. The new year always brings new opportunities and adventures and sometimes the end of certain things. My motto for this year and every year will be if it's not bringing a blessing or positivity to my life; I don't need it. That being said, I re-evaluated some things and decided some had to be let go. My focus is to excel in every area of my life. I will not let negativity hinder me from what I want. I know those are the things that make you stronger and give you the power to push forward. I have since begun taking classes towards finishing up my degree and I feel really good about that. Work has become extremely stressful and I have been asking God to help me with that. Home life is well... home life LOL! That can be managed as well but what I try to do through all of this is to see the good in it. We each have been put on earth for a purpose. God only knows our future and it always seems brighter when we look to Him. I will be posting pics in my next posting of some Valentine's treats Im making. I also finally found THE perfect chocolate cake recipe from scratch. I have not had luck with any in recent months. My husband and kids always said there was something "missing" in the cakes I made from scratch LOL.. and now they've certified this one as being the one. Still on the search for a perfect yellow cake, but I'll take the chocolate for now as that's a fav around her anyway. I used my own homemade cream cheese icing; no store bought! I'll post the link below to the cake recipe. Let me know how it worked for you!

The Perfect Wreath

Happy Holidays! I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving just like I did. Now it's time to move on to the countdown for Christmas!! I love seasonal decorating and this is the perfect time to showcase it for an even longer period of time. I'm starting as early as I can this year. I am currently on the hunt for the perfect wreath. Im doing my own Christmas cards this year and this will be the highlight since the pics will be taken outside on my front porch. I ventured out yesterday in what I thought would be Black Friday madness, which turned out not to be so mad after all. Things were pretty calm; I guess I got out too late, but either way the pickings for wreaths were very slim. I hit up HomeGoods and Ross and found nothing! I had my eye on one at Lowe's that I saw earlier last month but I still wasnt sure it what was I was looking for. This weekend I will be going to the Christmas Tree store. If you dont have one of those in your areas, shame on your area! Seriously, this store has the best Christmas decorations at such a great price. They have decorations for all holidays but their main feature of course is Christmas. I cant tell you how much great stuff I've found over time! So, if I dont see what Im looking for, I may let the DIY bug bite me and make my own LOL. But we'll see!! Either way, I'm going to have something by the end of the week. Here a few wreaths that I love so far..

25/8 Not Enough Time

So I knew when I started this blog that my time would probably be limited to the daily postings I imagined. With the demands of work, family, and just having "me" downtime, I struggle to post on this blog at least 2-3 times a week. When I started it I felt a sense of accomplishment because this was something that I wanted to do. It was meant to be a creative outlet for all my interests and just a way to document my thoughts, etc. Now a feeling of guilt comes because even though I don't have any followers/subscribers yet; I feel like I've let someone down. Myself. Starting things and not finishing them have kind of followed me throughout my life a few times and Im fighting to end that cycle. Hence, my degree, becoming a makeup artist, starting a blog?.. Im seeing a pattern here..hmm. I'm deciding that whatever matters most to me is where I've dedicated my time and the other things that I wanna do will come to pass. Now that I have had a chance to reflect on what those "other" things I want are, I now know where to begin. So instead of feeling guilty about not blogging daily, I'll become more happy about what's to come. I know that soon school will be done, I know that I still "do" makeup for friends when they need it, just like I know that this blog aint goin nowhere! I'll use this as my downtime to express my views on things while still giving doses of my creative interests on here. If anybody out there can relate to what I'm saying, let's agree that even though we all would like more hours in the day to do things; let's cherish the moments that have been where we've already accomplished things.

Holiday Decorating

With two of the major holidays fastly approaching, Thanksgiving and Christmas, I have to start early with planning. This year for Christmas, I'll be purchasing a fake tree. Normally, the past few years, we've brought a real tree and even though it looks beautiful and smells great; I HATE the clean up. All the pine needles falling off and not to mention getting that thing out the door and into the trash when the holiday is over. So, I told my hubby that we need to invest in a good fake one; one that is full and will last us for a couple years (or more). I try to change my color scheme each year which is always a good excuse to buy new ornaments! So for Thanksgiving, I try to keep it minimal with just buying table decorations. Well I've recently gotten into the white dishes, and need to start buying platters, serving trays, etc. for this purpose. Plus, white dishes look great for any occasion. With that being said, here are a few pics that got me giddy and ready for all the festivities!

Fall Decorating

If you're like me and have been waiting for fall, then you must have the fall decorating itch too!
I think not only is fall my favorite season because of all the cute clothes, but it really gives me a chance to decorate even more! Pumpkins are my first indication in getting excited about this time of year. Every year I set out to have a fantastic porch decorating scene and I always wait until the last minute. I normally only result in hanging a wreath on my door and it pretty much stops there. Well, thanks to Pinterest and other blogs I've been following; they have truly inspired me to get moving!! I hit Michael's up this past weekend for some pumpkins (which were on sale!) and put a few pieces I already had around the house together with it. This will make up my fall mantelpiece. I haven't quite finished yet, but when I do pics will definitely be posted. I scored this cute scarecrow from the dollar section at Target that I'll be using outside on my porch.

Pics coming soon! Always stop by there, they have the cutest random stuff in that section! Happy decorating!!!
